Well guys, I am a bit late in this report as I have had the pleasure to have been using this item for a few weeks now.

I was demonstrating at a three day Advanced trapping school organised by Agforce a few months ago and was talking to a guy who was starting to make these units and he asked me for my thoughts on it. I must say that at first I was truly impressed with the workmanship and thought that went into this tool.

Pete152, owner of Gettrapped in Kedron kindly sent one along for my appraisal, and I have been putting it to good use. As said, it is a really well made unit which would last even a full time trapper many years, and a part time guy a lifetime. It is very strong and robust, and does it's intended job easily.

It is essentially a hoe and stake puller, so a hammer to pound your stakes into the ground is also needed in your kit. A lot of the commercial hoes have a hammer on the opposite side, but then they lack the ability to extract stakes from hard ground.

The hoe is sharp enough and has enough weight in it to chop out trap beds in any type of ground. Some of the ground I used it in was made up of clay soils and rocky ground, with no discernible damage to the unit.

The main part I was more interested in was the stake pulling capabilities, and this is where this baby really shines. The grooved notch cut out for this will easily accommodate any 1/2" and larger reo bar stakes with either washers or nuts welded on for heads, and the length of the handle is long enough to exact quite a good deal of leverage to the stake.

This is a unit that I will gladly use for many years to come, and highly recommend it to anybody that has a desire to put a trap in the ground, full timers and novices alike.

I have been trapping for 25 years now, and have made all manner of devices to use myself. This unit, I must admit, is a better design than any of mine.

It just plain looks good too.
